A Love Letter to Edinburgh

Living and working in the city centre of Edinburgh, it's not often I actually stop from the hustle and bustle and just watch the world go by and appreciate the surrounding city I love to call home. It's been over a year since I made the move to Edinburgh after finishing at university, and a whopping five years I have been spending coming up and down on the train to visit friends here. Ever since first getting off the night train to Waverly at Christmas time all those years ago and seeing the enchanted city lit up with all it's gorgeous Christmas decorations glittering against the city skyline, I knew it was the place I wanted to be.

Being a Tourist in Your Own City

Passing all the familiar sights on my route to work, it was time I became a tourist once again in my own city. I was ready to fall in love all over again. The charm of the Old Town, the nooks and crannies and side alleyways and hidden passages. The quirky shops and markets in the New Town. The winding streets of Stockbridge. Passing through the peacefulness of the Dean Village. Escaping the rain on cloudy days to look around the galleries. Having a BBQ with friends on the Meadow's in summer. Taking a walk up Arthurs Seat to watch the fireworks over the city at the end of the Festival. The Christmas markets. Spending New Year dancing in the street for Hogmanay.
