Welcome to Lowell Life

After being in Bisbee for a long weekend over New Year, it was time to drive back to Phoenix. Stopping for some breakfast before getting on the road for the next four hours, we went to the Bisbee Breakfast Club. Being served well and truly cowboy inspired portions for breakfast, we were set for the day. It was as we sat down to breakfast that I noticed a street that time forgot around the corner. A place called Lowell, completely preserved back in time.

The Lowell Project

As part of a historic arts project β€˜The Lowell Project’ was born from one mans passion of vintage American history. I was in love. It felt like we had been transported back to another era; totally un-touched by time.

After the area was physically separated over 50 years ago from the rest of the town due to mining, it was long forgotten. What was once a thriving area where people socialised and shopped; here lies a vintage Ford station wagon next to a gas pump last used in the 1970s.

Preservation & Restoration

Volunteers across town and vintage enthusiasts work together to preserve Lowell. With the aim of taking residents and visitors back to its heyday. With restored coats of fresh paints and hand-painted signs, it really is a dream to explore. Be sure to check it out on your way out of town, and enjoy Lowell life for a little while.
