Sharing my 2016 Christmas Gifts
I’ve said it many times before, but I adore Christmas. The coming together of friends and family, all that food, wonderful scents of cinnamon in the air. What’s not to like? Another one of my favourite Christmas things is reading ‘what I got for Christmas’ posts. Seeing everyones different tastes expressed in their gifts keeps me inspired for present buying in the future.
I’m a fussy kind of girl in what I like, and that can often make me difficult to buy presents for. But when friends and family get it right, they really get it right! For Christmas 2016 (it feels so weird to write 2016 in the past now!) I got some wonderful gifts I’m very grateful for. I got all of the usual fluffy socks to keep me stocked up for another year, and the never ending chocolate – which is never a bad thing!
For Christmas and New Year I left the cold winds and rain of the UK and headed west to America, where I spent it with family in Phoenix, Arizona. Because of this it was already a Christmas like no other. We had an early Christmas before leaving for the USA, so I already received quite a few Christmas gifts before then, as well as spending an early Christmas with Luke and with friends.
Christmas in the USA
Due to being on holiday over Christmas, a lot of my presents were in the form of dollars – allowing me to purchase whatever I desired on a shopping spree when I reached Phoenix. It’s here I bought the likes of the peach pink faux leather jacket from Forever 21, a nude pink cross body bag from Nine West – perfect for spring and summer 2017, and some much needed black suede boots from Dune.
The main gift from my parents was a new iPhone. I had been using an iPhone 5 for quite some time, and was in need of an upgrade. So to open up that well recognisable little white box to an iPhone 6S I was thrilled! The camera is so much better and I’m now more up to date on software and touch capabilities and finger print recognition. Another Apple lover gift included this adorable Marc Jacobs iPad case which reminds me of our little black cat, Gizzy.
Candle Obsessive & Travel Lover
I’m a huge candle lover and can barely go a day without burning some. They’re great for relaxing and help keep our home smelling fragrant, so it’s so surprise Yankee candles were on the list! I got a combination of miniature scents, from a festive ‘snowflake cookie’ to a wonderfully cosy ‘soft blanket’. Perfect for storing all my candle goodies in, I also received this Orla Kiely tin storage box.
Being such a big travel lover, I was thrilled to receive the New York Times ’36 hours in Europe’ guide. I’ve already planned out a few trips in my head and would love to put them into action for 2017! Another book I received included Aimee Song from ‘Song of Style’ – Capture Your Style, an Instagram guide for every blogger. I’ve already read it cover to cover and totally transformed my Instagram game. If you aren’t already following me, you can check out my profile – here!
Sales Shopping in the USA
Enjoying doing some serious shopping in the post Christmas sales over in the USA, I picked up some great bargains. From this rose print Anne Taylor skirt to pretty feminine designs by Lauren Conrad, including this sweet ‘hello beautiful’ trinket dish; perfect for holding my tiny gold bee necklace from my mum. Even joined by my very own piece of Kate Spade, in form of this darling bow stitched scarf. Perfect for wrapping up with now I’m back in the UK and plunged back into freezing temperatures once again, saying goodbye to the ever lasting sunshine of Arizona.
