The Shearling Jacket Trend
Back from the 1970s, the shearling jacket trend made its reappearance over autumn and winter 2015. A trend that’s practical for keeping you warm, and stylish? Yes please! Combining key 70s suede styles with contrasting biker style cuts from more modern trends; it’s back in our lives once more, and this time I’m hoping it’s around to stay.
How to Style It
The shearling jacket can be worn for so many different occasions. Perfect for keeping warm against the outdoors, matching with almost anything for an instant cool vibe. Layered up with a mini skirt, roll-neck tee, tights and some chunky boots for a day-to-day look. Or even a casual-dressy kind of vibe with some tailored cigarette trousers and heels.
What I’m Wearing
Perfect for layering up on colder days, and acting as a go-to throw on jacket for day to day wear. I’m styling it here for a casual weekend look for meeting some friends for brunch. Teamed over some cosy leggings (so what, leggings CAN be pants, don’t lie) and an oversized striped shirt. Accessoried with a statement necklace, some block suede black boots from Dune, and backpack from Radley; perfect for picking up errand items on my way home.
The Perfect Cosy Combination
The combination of soft suede and the fleecy lining of my shearling jacket make for the perfect cosy combination. Whilst the knitted texture of the sleeves and back of the jacket make it wearable around the home, without the bulkiness of a coat. Are you a fan of the shearling jacket trend? How would you style it?
