What Outfits I’ve Been Wearing in 2016
In 2016 I was fortunate enough to do more and see more. I travelled to Asia for the first time and went to Hong Kong, Macau and Tokyo. Landing in Japan nothing felt real, Tokyo was a blur of madness and neon lights and I loved it. Seeking solace from the city that never sleeps, we took a walk through the gardens of Shinjuku Gyoen and enjoyed an afternoon of sunshine in peace. Pairing floaty chiffon fabrics from my midi skirt, with a nod to 2016’s embroidery trend in this red cropped top, both from H&M.

Sailing in Hong Kong
Moving onto Hong Kong, I realised very quickly that I seem to have what Luke calls my ‘asian style’. After falling in love with almost every item of clothing I found in stores, I couldn’t help but purchase this striped dress, perfect for an afternoon on the water front over looking the harbour on one of Hong Kong’s famous last remaining red junk boats, the Aqua Luna.

Why Converse Are Back in Fashion
As autumn started to close in back in Edinburgh, it was time for something a little warmer. Here I’m styling the latest Converse collection, the ‘holiday nudes’. With playful soft pinks and basic nudes, they were the perfect accessory for any go-to comfortable outfit for weekend errands. Paired with some skinny jeans and a throw over scarf and faux leather jacket, I was ready to go!

Party Season Playsuits
With party season approaching and Christmas get togethers in full swing, with new year looming around the corner, it was time to play dress up. I fell in love with playsuits and jumpsuits and found flattering ways to wear them which suited my short height. Here I’m styling a simple black playsuit from Quiz with matching gold detail clutch and chevron print necklace, pulled together with a sleeveless pink jacket and lace around heels.

Ever Changing Seasonal Wardrobe
Autumn came into full swing, and with it so did my seasonal wardrobe. Pulling out all of my favourite berry hues and deep browns and purples, I was ready to face my favourite season of the year. Making the most of crunching in leaves and the air being just crisp enough to still wear a throw on faux suede biker jacket; I was ready to make the most of the changing colours before winter hit. Layered up with a basic black rollback tee, perfect for a little added extra warmth.

Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!
Reaching December, and with it the official Christmas party season, I styled yet another playsuit. This time, perfect for Christmas get togethers and with New Year looming, this lace style playsuit from Quiz was high on my ‘to-wear’ list! With added minimal accessories and a deep pink lip I was ready to battle party season, with heels in toe.

Trend of the Year
The sleeveless jacket trend was one of my favourites for 2016. Being so easy and versatile to wear, they quickly became a statement in my wardrobe. I fell in love with this soft pink wool sleeveless blazer from New Look, which was worn time and time again, incorporated in different ways. Here I’m styling it with some faux leather look jeans and pointed flats for a meet up with friends, for that ‘casual dressy’ vibe we all try to achieve!

Perfect Autumn Hues
One of my favourite seasons of the year, autumn always brings out my best shades of tan and deep reds and purples. Making things work appropriate layering one of my favourite faux suede skirts from Primark with a pretty scalloped collar detail blouse from Miss Selfridge and some good old tights and boots to keep warm.

The Chiffon Savior
Re-styling the floaty chiffon skirt worn in my first outfit in the post back in Tokyo, it was time for it to make another appearance. This time combining a basic striped tee, styled in a way perfect for warmer summer days in the city. Paired with a statement necklace and pointed flats to go from day time errands to after work cocktails with friends all in one look.

Classic Casual Chic
My final outfit I’m sharing from 2016 was one of my favourite casual and classic looks of the year. With that striped shirt from New Look that almost everyone seems to have (super comfortable though!). Paired with some easy cosy black leggings and pointed flats; with statement accessories in form of my daily wear watch from Olivia Burton. A chunky necklace and printed clutch bag and Ray Bans for a rare British summers day!
