The Comeback of the Embroidery Trend
This is one of the outfits I’ve enjoyed putting together the most this year. Not always big on my own body self confidence, sometimes it’s okay to say – you know what, I’m working this. I decided to take a bit of a plunge recently buying these pieces. A recent buy from River Island in their AW16 range, I bought both this beautiful embroidered crop top and faux suede side slit pencil skirt.
Embroidery is a trend that’s been coming back in a big way this year. A age old skill that occupied women for centuries, with some pieces dating back to 30,000 BC; so it’s unsurprising to see it making a comeback. Mixing modern fabrics such as denim, mesh and velvet with embroidered details for a fresh new look.
Inspiration for Party Season Dressing
It’s always difficult to decide what to wear for party season. Before you realise all the Christmas parties are being planned before your eyes. From office Christmas parties, get together with friends, meals with family, the big day itself – and of course, New Year!
For a last minute party outfit solution, my go-to options are always that classic ‘nice top and a skirt’ kind of combination. Falling in love with the embroidery trend this season, it was hard to say no to this gorgeous sheer blouse and embroidered flowers.
Styling this outfit for party season, it’s my go-to style for a quick last minute decision for a festive night out. Feeling a vintage vibe, I paired an embroidered crop top with midi length faux suede pencil skirt. Accessories with a simple black and gold clutch bag and some black court shoe heels. Perfect for a night out with the girls, or an office Christmas party.
