Styling the Jumpsuit Trend
Following on from last weeks outfit post on how to style the playsuit, I’m tackling another of this seasons trends – the jumpsuit. Similar to the playsuit in many ways, the jumpsuit is perhaps a little more ideal for those colder winter days. Making it perfect for party season without the additional need for some tights to keep warm. I normally avoid jumpsuits like the plague. Finding a jumpsuit that’s appropriate on a short girl like myself with a big bum tends to be a war not worth waging. Still, not wanting to give up, I set out on a mission to find something that not only suited my height, but also my body shape.
Affordable Party Season Looks
The jumpsuit has been a trend that’s returned time and time again in recent years. For both the jumpsuit and the playsuit, they’re an all in one quick fix solution to a last minute party outfit. They’re modern, effortless and endlessly versatile, so no wonder they’re a big hit again this season. We all find ourselves feeling the penny-pinch when it comes to keeping costs down at Christmas. It’s easy to rack up lots of hidden costs we didn’t anticipate when it comes to buying new outfits for parties and occasions.
Have a good old sort out through your wardrobe, is there anything you could style again differently? Or even something you’ve never worn and still have the labels on (guilty!). Check out any seasonal discounts and offers on the high street, or even look for something more unique in vintage shops. You could even consider doing a clothes swap with friends. One outfit each between four of you covers a lot more options without spending any more money; each adding your own personality and accessories.
What I’m Wearing
I’m styling this bargain three quarter cropped black jumpsuit from Quiz*. I love that everything can be tied in at the waist with a feminine bow. The slightly flared trousers make for a more giving fit on my lower half; whilst also making my little legs appear just that bit longer. Wanting the illusion of my legs to continue just a bit further, I accessories with these lace up peep toe heels, and gold and black clutch bag. To get me from A-Z as a little cover up I’m wearing a sleeveless blazer jacket from New Look. My necklace and earrings are both from Primark. I do love a chevron print! What do you think of the jumpsuit trend? Would you style it differently? I hope I’ve inspired any fellow short girls out there to give it a go! You can see how I styled a more casual jumpsuit in Tokyo, here.
