Bobbi Brown George Street Launch, Edinburgh
A few weeks back, I headed along to the launch event of the new Bobbi Brown store here in Edinburgh. I must admit, I’m not great at my own make up, and I’m very much a minimal basics kind of girl. I was intrigued to see what made Bobbi Brown special. Bobbi Brown is something I had definitely heard of. Based within department Jenners and John Lewis previously as stalls, this launch brought its first free-standing store in Edinburgh.
Bobbi Brown herself started back out in the 1980’s, with a desire to promote natural beauty, in a time where the likes of neon make up was all the rage. In 1990 she began work on her first 10 lipsticks, those which sparked the beginnings of Bobbi Brown. This launched the success of where the brand is today, 25 years on. With over 70 free-standing stores, and stockists in over 60 countries worldwide.
Products I’m Wearing
I was lucky enough to have my make up professionally touched up by one of the Bobbi Brown make up artists. Who I might add, told us her age. Yet she definitely looked more in her 20’s than in her mid 30s! If that’s the power of Bobbi Brown, then I am so impressed. From here I was hooked. She did a colour match to my natural tone and found me the perfect shades; some of which I didn’t think I would ever find light enough for my super pale skin! I’m wearing the intensive skin serum concealer as a cover up, in ivory. With a touch of sheer finish pressed power to create a matte effect. Finished with a colour cheek tint, which was lovely and creamy considering I usually just use a powder blush. Completed with a touch of lipstick, in a lovely neutral ‘new blush’ colour.
The store itself was pristine, and definitely had a wonderful luxury, yet welcoming vibe about it. Almost all of the products were on display. This allowed you to really get a good look at what was on offer. The store also featured a private room, ideal for bridal parties or private make up tutorials and parties. After being educated on the various products, and trying them out for myself, I must say I am definitely sold on Bobbi Brown. I love the minimal natural style of it all, and it definitely matches to my own make up ideals. I’ll definitely be back to Bobbi Brown, and can’t wait to see what else they have to offer as the brand goes from strength to strength.
