Styling Jumpsuits for Short Girls
I’ve always classed myself as a short girl, coming in at just under 5’4″ I’m a whole foot shorter than Luke. But as he likes to tell me – I come in good use as an arm rest. But there’s something about being petite that has both it’s advantages and disadvantages, and although petite clothing definitely has more of a presence now than it ever has before, it’s easier than ever to get ‘short girl sizes’ in all my favourite shops; but every now and then I’ll still come across a trend that will need a bit of altering. I present you with, the short girl jumpsuit challenge. Now, I own a ton of playsuits, they’re super comfortable and can be easily dressed up or down, but trouser jumpsuits are a different story.
I worried that wearing a full trouser style jumpsuit would make my legs look eve shorter than what they already are, but when I tried on this full length jumpsuit from George at ASDA I was pleasantly surprised, both by it’s shape on a short girl like me, and how it’s pattern actually discussed the fact and instead, fit pretty damn well. Not to mention it felt like I was wearing pyjamas all day, and well, that’s just the dream really.
I admit I still had to alter the length of the trousers a little as they would have been dragging along the floor otherwise and I’m already enough of a hazard to myself, but I still wanted to maintain the bohemian style and overall flowing shape the trousers had to them. Falling in love with the paisley print, also being on style for the 70s summer trend, with slight embellishment around the top, this playsuit could go from day to night without having to add anything extra. What do you think of the jumpsuit trend? Do you face any difficulties dressing as a short (or tall!) girl?
