Foundry 39, Edinburgh
I was invited along to the VIP launch event of Edinburgh’s latest restaurant and bar, Foundry 39. Also based down in London, the Foundry Project opened up a new base up North in Edinburgh. Located on Queensferry street, Edinburgh’s latest new restaurant, Foundry 39, is conveniently located at West End of Princes Street. Tucked away just off the main strip, it’s a gem to be found.
Starting off with a cocktail, we were treated to ‘purple rain’ a lovely lavender infused drink. Followed by an array of food platers and cocktails at the evening, all of which were delicious and a great selection. With wide menu selection catering also for vegetarians, we enjoyed a sample of a bit of everything as the canapés came round. Looking over the menu everything was reasonably priced for the city, and their signature burgers very much in competition with other burger restaurants around Edinburgh.
What’s on the menu?
Foundry 39 focuses mainly on burgers and pizzas with a very much American inspired menu. Fancy something between you? Or if you’re in the mood for something smaller, opt for a sharing platter. We got to enjoy a platter of garlic dough balls, tomato & parmesan dough balls, nachos, caramel & chilli chicken wings and fried pickles. With the tomato and parmesan dough balls being my personal favourite, on par with the sticky chilli chicken wings! Being such a dessert lover, I was thrilled when they came round with miniature bites of heavenly dark chocolate brownies with salted caramel sauce too. Or if you’re feeling pretty full but still want to end on a sweet note, try one of their cocktails. I can highly recommend the purple rain or smoked manhattan for something a little richer.
We had a great night enjoying the VIP launch at Foundry 39. I’m looking forward to seeing how they develop in the future, but first impressions were indeed very good. I’ll definitely be heading back, especially for those brownies! Will you be checking out Foundry Project any time soon, either in London or Edinburgh?
