I love Easter, there’s something about it where everything just feels so positive and fresh for change. Not to mention the food, everyone loves an excuse to eat copious amounts of chocolate right? And you definitely can’t go all of Easter without having a good old cup of tea with a hot crossed bun. Which is why in true foodie style, on Easter Sunday I had fellow blogger friends Gillian and Laura come for a visit to enjoy stuffing our faces will all the food you can imagine. In true British style we attempted a BBQ, and naturally with it being a bank holiday, it poured it down. So that was swiftly moved into the oven and we had our indoor BBQ! Though not all was lost because we did manage to get outside for a short while, enjoying cocktails in the garden…wrapped up in our coats and gloves! But at least the sunshine and blue skies made an appearance, albeit brief.
Aside from all your standard BBQ food, sausages, burgers, salad, crisps and nibbles, we also divulged our sweet tooth. On the dessert menu, aside from some super sticky donuts, we were treated to the tastes of Caramel and Pistachio meringue stars, a fizzy apple juice, some cinnamon roasted almonds, and the loveliest rose and vanilla white chocolate, which had the most unique taste I’ve ever had, an almost tasted a little of Turkish Delight! The goodies were sent to us to sample from Caprera, who are an online artisan food company who work with independent local suppliers to bring you the best goodies around, tailored to you.
We had a lovely day catching up and all went home to bed in a food coma to sleep it off! How did you spend your Easter break?
