TGI Fridays: Blind Burger Date Night

On Thursday night me and a bunch of fellow Edinburgh bloggers and journalists, headed out to TGI Fridays for a blind date with a burger. Which, for someone who likes to know exactly what they’re eating, was a bit of a challenge! All we got was a short description of each, not necessarily saying what was on the burger, but more just subtle hints. After much deliberation, I decided to go for option four – which turned out to be this massive pulled pork burger with sweet potato fries you can see in my photo!

The burger itself was super tasty with just the right amount, though I did struggle with the last two remaining bites! It was a great evening mixing with other bloggers and getting a bit more experimental with food, than just playing the typical ‘safe option’ with some wonderful cocktails thrown in too. I have to admit, this was my first experience of a TGI Friday’s as it’s not often that I eat out due to expenses, but I really enjoyed my burger and evening. The only downfall of the night was the service was very slow, which was unfortunate, but luckily there were some great people to chat with to make up the waiting time.

  • It's a shame about the service, everyone seems to have been pretty disappointed with it. I was gutted to miss the Glasgow Blind Burger date as I was still at uni at the time but I got to try some of the new burgers a while ago and loved them. I tend to opt for the french dip which I think is option 5! x

  • I went to the Glasgow one and had contestant number 4. It was so good but I couldn't finish it! The service was really quick at the Glasgow event but I went a week later with Stuart's family and we were waiting ages. It seems to be a hit or a miss.
