Styling A Vintage Silk Dress
There’s nothing that I love more than a bargain. So when I found this vintage inspired silk dress for the sale in Matalan of all places, I instantly fell in love with it’s bold prints and striking colours. For an incredibly bargain price of £5 in the sale, I knew that this beauty had to be mine. Something you might find more in the likes of vintage shops in the likes of Edinburgh, Manchester, or even Camden Market; this was something that I couldn’t wait to incorporate as a statement piece into my holiday wardrobe to our recent trip to Prague in the Czech Republic.
Where I Wore It
I wore this whilst exploring the town of Lidice for the day in the Czech Republic. Lidice is now a memorial to the historical events, which once took place there, but now surrounding it is the beautiful garden of friendship and piece upon where I’m standing. With the grounds lined with meticulously maintained and pruned roses under the summer sunshine, it was a perfect day.
What I Wore It With
Paired with my sandals* from Clarks, which quickly became a statement piece in my holiday wardrobe, and my sunglasses are from Primark. I’m all for key statement pieces in your wardrobe, but normally even something this bold and bright would put me off. For some reason unknown I decided to try it on in store anyway and instantly fell in love with its playful charm. It’s true; you really do never know how something is going to look until you put it on yourself.
Are you a fan of the vintage inspired dress trend? Try teaming big bold colours and prints with cute flats for a comfortable yet stylish weekend vibe, or dress it up in the evenings with some heels and a subtle print clutch bag and some statement earrings.
I was sent these sandles to review from Clarks. All thoughts and photography is my own.
