The Flower Crown Trend
The flower crown is a big trend this season, thanks to the likes of brands like Crown and Glory. Instantly adding a feminine boho-festival style chic, they’re something that’s a great addition to a my outfit. Before our travels to Prague, which you can read more about – here, I spotted this flower crown headband in Primark. It was a very bargain worthy £2.50 so I thought I’d give it a whirl. Although initially I did feel a little daft wearing it, I soon grew to fall in love with it’s delicate floral charm. Paired with my soft pink blouse, ideal for dressing on holiday for warm sunny days, and my black midi skirt is an old one from Boohoo. I’m also styling some super comfortable sandles* from Clarks, which have been one of my most worn pieces all holiday.
Although styling a flower crown is the trend of the season, it’s something that’s been around for centuries. With tradition dating back all the way to ancient Greece, it was popular to wear them at special occasions to honour the gods. They’ve also been part of traditional dress in the likes of Ukraine and China. Often adorned on people’s heads after a wedding ceremony. Flower crowns have been a symbol of love, fertility and celebration all throughout history. Even if they’re more of a fashion statement these days, there’s no denying they’re a beautiful addition to any outfit, and are becoming once again increasingly popular to wear at weddings, and not to mention are now a key staple piece to any festival wardrobe. Are you a fan of the flower crown trend, how would you style it?
